Today was a great day, and also our last day all together
as a group. We started off the day by meeting up at CENP, where we got together
and reflected on the trip as a whole and shared our thoughts and feedback with
the teachers. We made one last run to the chino store next to the school to
stock up on snacks before going off on our excursion for the day. We headed
over to a Street filled with all kinds or different stores. We spent a few
hours of shopping, giving everyone a much appreciated chance to buy souvenirs,
clothes, gifts, and more. Afterwards, we all went out to a restaurant for lunch
with our teachers. The food was wonderful, and many of us tried Paella and
virgin Sangria. After eating a huge lunch, we spent another hour shopping and
eating gelato. We finished up the day by heading over to el Parque de Retiro,
where we had a chance to relax and go paddle boating on the lake. Then we saw
the Puerta de Alcalá, which is the first Arch of Triumph in Europe after the
Fall of the Roman Empire, then followed by the one in Paris a few years after.
After seeing it, we walked through the Alcalá Street, and in our way, we could
see the famous Cibeles fountain and the actual Madrid city hall, former Building of Communications. Today was a fun, relaxing, food filled day,
and a great way to spend our last day as a group.
